What Is An Energy Performance Certificate?
An EPC tells you exactly how energy efficient it is and how much it will cost to heat and light. It will also tell you the carbon emissions of a property. The ratings range from G, a property that is extremely inefficient, to A, a property that is very efficient. The document will also show you how energy efficient a property could be and the measures you would need to take to get there.

Who Produces Energy Reports And Performs The Assessment?
Only qualified, accredited domestic energy assessors can undertake an EPC inspection and assessment. This isn’t something you can do yourself! As a domestic energy assessor, I am fully qualified and insured to carry out an energy assessment and issue a cetificate with a minimum of fuss.

Domestic Energy
If you are a landlord or a homeowner who wants to let or sell your property, you must get a Domestic EPC from an accredited assessor. If you rent out your property it must meet the Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES), unless you have an exemption.

How Do I Get An EPC?
If you are selling a house, building or letting a property, it’s up to you to ensure that it has a valid EPC certificate. Once instructed, I can normally book in the assessment within 48 hours and on completion of the assessment, you will get your EPC immediately, on site

What Is The Assessment Procedure?
The assessment usually takes up to 45 minutes, depending on the size of the property. During the survey, I will look at your boiler, radiators, windows, loft insulation, wall thickness and construction type, among other things, to gather the data needed to issue a certificate Once produced, the certificate is valid for ten years. However, it is worth getting a new one produced if you carry out significant work on your property. As often, improvement works tend to improve your energy performance rating.
